American Girl Dolls Would Be Livid
A Series About What Our Favorite Childhood Heroines Would Think of 2025
If you grew up with American Girl dolls, you know they weren’t just dolls, they were mini history lessons disguised as birthday presents.
These girls didn’t just exist in history; they fought their way through it. They took on war, oppression, poverty, and injustice, all while wearing very elaborate nightgowns.
And if they time-traveled to 2025 and saw what’s happening in the world today?
They would be absolutely livid.
Felicity would be actively organizing a second revolution. Kirsten would be wondering why people are still fighting to afford basic needs 170 years later. Josefina would be questioning why America still treats immigrants unfairly. Addy would be giving a full TED Talk on the erasure of Black history. Samantha would be side-eyeing billionaires and demanding tax reform. Molly would be flipping tables over attacks on democracy. And Kit? Kit would be writing an exposé on corporate greed that would get her blacklisted from Wall Street.
We’re about to find out exactly how mad they’d be.
Welcome to “American Girl Dolls Would Be Livid,” a series where we take our beloved childhood heroines and ask, "What would they say about 2025?" (Spoiler: They’d have some thoughts.)
